Anthony Butler was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1968. Anthony was educated in Detroit Public Schools and went on to get aBachelor's Degree in Communications from the University of Detroit. After suffering the loss of his mother in 1995, he felt God calling him to work in the funeral home industry. Mr. Butler began to volunteer at a funeral home a couple days a week. 

In the fall of 1996 he went back to school and obtained his degree and mortuary science license. He grew from a volunteer to embalming and directing funerals.

In October 2010 Anthony Butler and his former wife Charita Butler stepped out on faith to open Butler Funeral Home on Morang Drive.

We have years of experience caring for families, from all walks of life. We are a family owned and operated funeral home. Our independent status allows decisions to be made on the local level. We are not required to meet the goals and expectations of a corporate conglomerate that are often far removed from the area and the needs of the families we serve.

When we sit down with a family, we have just one goal: to create a fitting, memorable and affordable service for their love done.

Together, we'll design a memorial or funeral service that suits their needs now, and in the future. Families who come to us know that years from now, they will have deep peace-of-mind because in comingto us, they've done their best to honor their loved one.
