Robert Ridges Jr., age 64, a resident of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on January 31, 2026, at his home.

He was born on April 1, 1961, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, to Robert Ridges Sr. and Juanita Ridges. He attended Marlboro Elementary School in Bennettsville, South Carolina. After relocating to Detroit, Michigan, he attended and graduated from David McKenzie High School.
Robert was first married to Anita Ridges. He later married Lashone Sullivan, and from that union, a son was born.

He spent his working career as a laborer and was also employed by Detroit Medical Center (DMC). He was a member of St. Mark. Robert enjoyed watching football and basketball games and valued time spent gathering with friends and neighbors. He also found joy in visiting with and assisting senior members of his community whenever possible.

Robert is survived by his loving mother, Juanita Ridges; three brothers, Tyrone Ridges, Samuel “Bonnie” Ridges, and Andre Ridges (Kerri); one half-brother, Michael Graham; and one half-sister, Greta Michael. He is also survived by his two children, Venus Curtis (Brandon) and Robert Ridges III; two stepchildren, Salesta and Charmain; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Ridges Sr., and his brother, Anthony Ridges.
