Martha Ruth Crowfield was born September 10, 1949, in
Clanton, Alabama to the union of Charlie and Inella Crowfield. She was the tenth child of twelve
children. In 1959, the family relocated to Detroit, Michigan. Martha professed her faith in Christ
at a young age. She sang in the Sunshine Band at church with her siblings..Blessed with a beautiful
voice, Martha found greatjoy in singing.
Martha was educated in the Detroit Public School System.
Before retiring, she worked in various roles: Security, Janitorial, Home Healthcare and Childcare.
During her teenage years, she became acquainted with Curtis
Wade and eventually they united in marriage.
Martha wore a beautiful smile that could light up any room. She had a fun-loving, energetic spirit
and a passion for dancing. She had a magnetic presence on the dance floor, with everyone eager to
watch her best moves. She enjoyed cooking, studying the Bible, traveling, watching her favorite
television shows (Walker, Texas Ranger and Columbo) and spending time with her family and friends.
Even though Martha was a tough cookie at times, she had a heart of gold. Whenever she could, she
would extend a helping hand without hesitation.
On June 27, 2021, Martha joined the Gathering of Christ Church (GOCC Detroit) and reaffirmed her
faith through baptism.
Martha's earthly journey crune to a sudden close on February 6,
2025, forever remembered by those who loved her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis
Wade, two daughters, Stacie and Stephanie Wade, her parents, Charlie and Inella Crowfield,
five brothers, Eddie, Albert, Vondell, Cornell and Nathaniel, six sisters, Ozella, Mary, Adell,
Dorothy, Brenda and Linda.
She leaves behind cherished memories with her children Eldridge Wade, LaTuna Wade and
Shandelle Wade (Nathaniel). Her grandchildren Arshawn, Takesha, LaS11on, Jametrius (Monica),
Deonte, Martell, Carlton, Terrell, TuJuan, Inella, Ryleigh and Naomi and sixteen
great-grandchildren, her daughter at heart, Joann, a loving friend, Edward Pruitt and her best
frien.d since childhood, Bev rly Heard, a,long with her nephews, nieces and friends.
