Mrs. Johnie M. Key-Trotter was born March 12, 1942, in Americus, Georgia, to Johnnie Lee Key, and Daisy Pearl Carter (both preceded her in death). Johnie moved to Detroit, MI in 1972 with her two children.
Johnie was educated in Georgia and Louisiana Public schools. She earned her nursing license at South Georgia Technical and vocational school for Practical nursing (1968) LPN, Johnie also earned an Associate of Science degree from Wayne County Community College (1990), and was a Substitute Teacher at Highland Park Community College.
Johnie was employed at Luther Haven Nursing facility of Lutheran Social Services of Michigan for over 28 years as a Charge Nurse (1973).
Johnie enjoyed her family and friends, she loved entertaining during the holidays and birthday celebrations.
She loved watching scary movies ,cooking, shopping, going to dinner and family trips, her favorite holiday was Christmas and she loved to watch Christmas lights, Johnie was a fashionista who loved to dress up for all occasions.
Johnie leaves to cherish her loving memory, Husband Bobby Joe Trotter of 34 years, daughter Lisa Peters, son Henry Peters (preceded her in death) and stepson Samuel L. Henry ( Jackie) and one stepdaughter Jarita Ray (Lance) Troy, New York, one sister Louise Elizabeth Ross (George Cooper) one brother Grover Key (all preceded her in death), one grandson Perry Lee Brower Jr (wife Raven), three great- grandchildren Perrion Brower, Samiya Thompson, Rayna Brower, and three granddaughters Sade, Simone, Genoa and nephews nieces Doretha Ross (preceded her in death) Alice Ross, Johnnie Ross, Mainon Cooper (Simona, her special pet (cat) Sugar, and a host of relatives and friends
