Today we come together to celebrate the life and new beginning of a remarkable woman, Ms. Annette T Jackson. Annette was born on April 9, 1959 to Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Dorothy Tinsley in Detroit, MI. She accepted her new beginning on December 22, 2020 with her children by her side. She was preceded in her new life by both of her parents, as well as her brother Mark Tinsley.
Annette was a dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. She was the third oldest of five children. Living in Detroit all of her life, she was educated through the Detroit Public School system were she received her high school diploma from Kettering High School. At 19 years old she met Lennie Jackson and they later married, and were blessed with two children (Kellen and Kristen).
Annette was a hard worker all of her life starting as a teenager and as she progressed onto adulthood, she worked with First Federal Bank for some time. Annette had a passion for helping others and had a servant heart, which lead her to evolving to new employment with Children's Hospital of Michigan, from which she retired after 17 years. While working at Children's she obtained her Bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Wayne State University on December 16, 2004 and her Masters of Art with a concentration in Counseling from Siena Heights University on December 31, 2010, becoming the first person in her family to earn a college degree.
Annette loved her family, and she was a gentle, kind woman. She had a pure heart and you always felt loved in her presence. Annette's words of encouragement touched many hearts. Her life was a living example of bible verse Ephesians 4:32-, "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God forgave you in Christ."
Forever remembered by Annette will be her two children , Kellen Jackson and Kristen Jackson, her three grandchildren, Kamariah, Endia, and Maryah. Annette also leaves behind sisters Janet Hall, Debra Whitehead and brother Tony Tinsley. Annette will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Annette's favorite bible verse was proverbs 3:5-6- 5 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
